well, nothing you people should care much about, anyhow. my blood pressure was 160/100 recently...that's news. and i suspect that it's not going to drop much in this political climate. every other day i'm fuming about something ridiculous in D.C.
southern California might be starting to slide into winter...ish. that's nice. it was a pretty hot summer. the day star burns us.
i haven't really had the urge to fiddle much with pictures or paint recently. but i'm doing a whole lot of cooking these days...i think that's where my creative juice is going. that's about all i have patience/concentration for at the moment. i have NO idea what i'm doing for Thanksgiving, though. i'm oddly stressed about that.
oh, if you like the fantasy genre (the dragons and magic type, not the bow-chicka-bow-wow stuff), check out an author named Patrick Rothfuss. he's got the first two books of what i assume is a trilogy out, and they're really good. even though i love it, the snob in me generally considers fantasy to be fast-food fiction - light weight, generally unfit for critical treatment. i'm not saying he's Shakespeare, but Rothfuss is definitely a cut above the norm.
(a note for me for later - remember to look up John Hodgman's book(s).)
and this link is my current giggle. "Jackpot, fishypoopypants," gets me every time. enjoy.
